The project comprises of the Fit Out Works of the new Auxiliary buildings at the Hamad International Airport (HIA), an extension of the current buildings. The scope of works are under the Western Taxiway & Stand Development Works contract which was awarded to the joint venture of UBT. This infrastructure and utility focused expansion project will increase the operational capacity of HIA and add additional aircraft stands. The fit out works focused on GSE Modular Buildings D5050, D5051, D5052, D6500 and D5020, designed by Office for Metropolitan Architecture or OMA, and Water Hydrant Pump Building and Substation Building designed by Aecom. The scope of works included the preparation of Fit-Out Shop Drawings for multiple fit out packages including: drywall and false ceiling, tiling, block work and the corresponding material specification. The fully detailed fit out shop drawings were prepared in sets of key plans, partial plans, sections and installation details. Daily coordination with the fit out contractor and the main contractor, was carried out throughout the full project duration.
