The area of the Promenade from Dajlani Bridge to Kavalishenca Building is located 4 km from the center of Durrës and is also on the first line of connection with Dajlani Bridge and the port of Durrës. This area has a long coastline of 3.2 km, including the area in which the “Durra Waterfront” project idea was conceived.
This area has never been treated as a “Waterfront”, so as in every coastal city, this area was conceived as a space full of life, giving the coast a new view of the waterfront, for the fragment between the buildings and the sea.
• Materials
The materials will be with the neutral colors of the context where the intervention will take place. Colored and beige concrete, sand and wood material will be used. Wood will be the ‘bridge’ between services (new interventions) and nature. Composite wood with polymers has been proposed, taking into account the impact of intervention in the environment and resistance to atmospheric conditions.
• Urban elements
A special importance has been given to the very careful selection of the urban elements that will be on this promenade. The distribution according to a certain rule of lighting, signage, benches and auxiliary structures is intended. It is worth mentioning the fact that the benches are of different types, with natural materials, that suit the area where they will be placed.
• Service structure
The auxiliary service structures (beverage, food and various activity joints) will mainly be light wooden structures.
